American Dance Festival (ADF) (Durham) - Dedicated to nurturing and sustaining modern dance, the world renowned ADF is an international magnet for choreographers, dancers, teachers, critics, musicians and scholars. It provides summer performances and professional training programs, and is involved in various community educational programs and projects. It began in 1934 in Vermont, and moved to Durham and Duke University in 1977.
North Carolina Dance Alliance (NCDA)(Raleigh) - Established in 1982, NCDA is the non-profit state organization that serves and supports the North Carolina dance community. Members include professional dance companies, dance artists, edu-cators, students, etc. The site includes a member-ship directory and statewide dance calendar. It offers grants, scholarships and a fellowship.
North Carolina Dance Project (Greensboro) - The N.C. Dance Project is a school, festival, dance company, and community resource. Dance Project at City Arts offers classes, workshops and informal performances. North Carolina Dance Festival travels to 5 different N.C. cities/towns annually, showcasing N.C dance artists. The Dance Project also manages the Jan Van Dyke Dance Group.
North Carolina Dance Theatre (Charlotte) - N.C. Dance Theatre is the oldest professional ballet company in the state. It has an established national reputation for artistic excellence and is regarded as one of Charlotte’s premiere arts organizations. It offers performances, a school of dance, and an education and outreach program to the community.
